Skin, hair and nails are often where a problem shows up first. We treat acne, psoriasis, eczema, dermatitis, fungal infections and the lesions that come with age or sun exposure. Mole checks matter particularly here, in an area where so much of life happens outdoors.

The appointment starts with an examination of the skin and, if a lesion raises any doubt, it can be removed and sent for analysis. The dermatologist also offers facial and skin aesthetic treatments, always after discussing what actually makes sense in each case. Does my health insurance cover a dermatology appointment?

We work with more than 40 health insurers, but every policy is different: check with your provider whether dermatology is included and whether any procedure needs prior authorisation. Cosmetic treatments usually fall outside the cover and are seen as private appointments.

How often should moles be checked?

The dermatologist will tell you how often to repeat the check, depending on your skin, how many moles you have and your family history. Do not wait for the next check-up if a mole changes in size, shape or colour, if it bleeds or if a wound is not healing.

Can a skin lesion be removed at the centre in Palafrugell?

Yes. Skin lesion surgery and cryotherapy are carried out in the surgery in Palafrugell, with care taken over how the scar will look. When the lesion calls for it, the sample is sent for analysis and we book you in to go through the result.
