Frequently asked questions
If you can't find what you're looking for, call us on 972 30 65 65 or write to us using the contact form.
What services does Centre Mèdic Palafrugell offer?
Family medicine, paediatrics and 20 more specialties (cardiology, gynaecology, orthopaedics, dermatology, ophthalmology, urology and more), diagnostic imaging (radiology, 3D ultrasound, bone density scans), blood tests, medical certificates, nursing, physiotherapy, podiatry and dental care. You'll find the full list on the specialties page.
Do I need to book an appointment?
Yes. All visits and tests are by appointment. You can book online using the “Book an appointment” button (the centre's appointment portal), by calling +34 972 30 65 65 or at reception. We confirm the day and time and, if needed, what to bring. The website contact form is for other enquiries, not for booking.
Do you work with health insurers?
Yes, with more than 40 health insurers: Adeslas, Sanitas, DKV, Mapfre, AXA, Asisa, FIATC, Cigna, Caser and many more. Bring your card on the day of your appointment. If yours isn't on the list, call us to check; we also see patients privately.
What are your opening hours?
Monday to Friday, 8am to 8pm, and Saturday from 9am to 2pm. Each specialist holds clinics on set days and times: we'll tell you what's available when you book.
Where are you?
The medical centre is at Plaça de Catalunya, 5 (ground floor), 17200 Palafrugell. Physiotherapy and dental care are at our Physiotherapy and Dental Clinic, at Carrer de Sant Sebastià, 87, a five-minute walk away.
Which diagnostic tests do you carry out at the centre?
X-rays, ultrasound scans (including 3D and Doppler), bone density scans, ECGs, stress tests, Holter monitoring, blood tests and rapid tests. Most are scheduled without long waits, and your results come back to the centre.
How do I change or cancel an appointment?
Call us on 972 30 65 65 as far in advance as you can. That way we can rearrange the diary and offer your slot to someone else.
Do you issue medical certificates for driving licence renewal?
Yes. We issue the official medical certificate for driving licence renewal, as well as certificates for firearms and boating licences, sports and others. Bring your ID, your current licence and your glasses or contact lenses if you wear them.
Do you treat emergencies?
We are not an emergency service. In an emergency, call 112 or go to your nearest emergency department. For a same-day appointment, call us and we'll do our best to find you a slot with the right professional.
How do I get my blood test results?
You can view them online on the laboratory's website (Synlab), using the login details we give you on the day of your blood test, or collect them at the centre. Reports for other tests are handed to you by the specialist or at reception.
