Psychology
Psychological support for children, young people and adults: anxiety, low mood, sleep, behaviour and relationships.

Psychology
The psychology service sees children, young people and adults. People come for all sorts of reasons: a spell of anxiety, a mood that will not lift, trouble sleeping, bereavement, a difficult patch in a relationship, or a life change that is hard to absorb. You do not have to be in crisis to book an appointment; most people come when something has simply started to get in the way.
The first session is about understanding what is going on and agreeing where to go from there; the frequency of later sessions is always set together with you. With children and teenagers we work with the family too, because the context matters a great deal. Appointments are booked in advance at Plaça de Catalunya 5 in Palafrugell, in a private room and with the confidentiality the profession requires.
Services in this specialty: Psychology
- Anxiety and stress. Constant worry, tension, panic attacks or the feeling of always being on alert. The work is about understanding where it comes from and building ways to manage it.
- Low mood and depression. Sadness that does not shift, apathy, loss of interest in things, or tiredness that rest does not fix.
- Sleep difficulties. Trouble falling asleep, waking in the night, and sleep habits that end up taking their toll during the day.
- Child psychology. Fears, difficulty settling at school, behavioural problems or anxiety in children, with support for parents.
- Teenagers and young adults. Academic pressure, self-esteem, family conflict and difficulty relating to others during a time of rapid change.
- Relationships and conflict. Recurring problems with a partner, with family or in social life that gradually wear people down.
- Persistent emotional distress. Any distress that is affecting your quality of life, even if you cannot quite put a name to it.

Book an appointment when something has been weighing on you for weeks and your usual ways of coping have stopped working: there is no need to wait for a crisis. All the first session asks of you is a willingness to talk it through; if you take medication or have had treatment before, it helps to have the details with you. Call 972 30 65 65 or book through the contact form.
Covered by most health insurers. Check yours on the list of insurers.
Frequently asked questions about Psychology
Is the first psychology session covered by my health insurance?
It depends on your policy: we work with more than 40 private health insurers and each one covers psychology differently, with some asking for prior authorisation. When you call 972 30 65 65 to book, we will tell you what yours needs and what the private option involves.
How many sessions will I need?
There is no fixed number. The first session is about understanding what is going on and agreeing where to go from there, and the frequency of later sessions is set together with you and reviewed as the work goes on.
Do you offer child psychology in Palafrugell?
Yes: we see children, teenagers and adults at Plaça de Catalunya 5 in Palafrugell, in a private room and with the confidentiality the profession requires. With younger children we work with the family as well, and appointments are always booked in advance.
