Nursing
The nursing team handles the centre's day-to-day work: dressing a wound, giving an injection, removing stitches or running the tests a doctor needs before deciding. These are short appointments and usually easy to book. If you come with instructions from another professional, we follow them exactly as written.
We also carry out the basic functional tests — ECG, spirometry and audiometry — along with blood pressure and blood sugar checks. For patients who cannot travel, we offer the same care at home. An appointment is needed, and dressings and injections require a doctor's instructions.
Services in this specialty: Nursing
- Blood draws and sample collection. Blood, urine and other fluid samples, plus specimens for pathology studies.
- Wound care. Wounds, surgical wounds, ulcers and burns: we clean, dress and follow them up until they close.
- Stitch removal and post-operative checks. We remove stitches and staples and check the surgical wound so any complication is picked up early.
- Injections. Subcutaneous, intramuscular and intravenous injections given according to the doctor's instructions.
- Electrocardiogram. A quick, painless recording of the heart's electrical activity, for check-ups and for investigating palpitations or chest pain.
- Spirometry. Measurement of lung capacity to diagnose and monitor asthma, COPD and other respiratory conditions.
- Audiometry. A test to check what you hear in each ear and detect hearing loss.
- Blood pressure and blood sugar checks. Follow-up readings for high blood pressure and diabetes, with a record to take to your doctor.
- Nursing at home. Dressings, injections and monitoring at home for patients who have difficulty travelling.

Do you provide wound care and injections at home?
Yes. For patients who find it hard to travel we provide dressings, injections and monitoring at home, with the same care as at the centre. Give us a day's notice whenever possible and have the doctor's instructions to hand.
Do I need a doctor's instructions for wound care or an injection?
Yes: for dressings and injections we follow the instructions exactly as written, whether they come from one of our doctors or another professional. For blood pressure or blood sugar checks you simply need an appointment.
Which tests can the nursing team do in Palafrugell?
